During the first week of April each year, OCSI students from K5 to Grade 12 take the SAT 10 (Stanford Achievement Test, version 10), a test widely used by schools in the United States as a way of measuring academic progress. OCSI students have consistently performed very well on the SAT 10, which is a testimony to great parental involvement and great classroom teachers!
The 2010 SAT 10 results are given below by grade. Hints on how to read the results:
- The results are given as a 'percentile ranking,' or PR, which is measured from 0 - 100.
- The PR result compares OCSI students with all other students who have taken the SAT 10 test.
- A PR result of 65, for example, means that OCSI students have performed better than 65% of other students who took the same test.
- A PR result of 50, therefore, would be average- it would mean OCSI students performed better than 50% of other students, but not as well as the other 50%.
- Results are broken down by subject area, and there is also a 'Complete Battery' section. This is an average of all the subjects together.
