At OCSI we believe that three year olds are little children who have a right to enjoy childhood experiences that pass all too rapidly. They are active and excited to explore the world and play with friends.
K3 curriculum develops the physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of students through a balance of hands-on materials and activities. We provide time for constructive, creative play. We teach children to obey simple suggestions and commands with a strong emphasis on the positive. Children are taught to thank God for all His gifts. Scriptures and songs with a spiritual message are memorized. We teach empathy, kindness and Christian character through stories, Bible verses, role playing, coaching, and exhortation.
Students are introduced to phonics, colors, spatial concepts and patterns, books, nursery rhymes, and finger plays.
No more than ten students will be allowed in the class since the K3 students will be our youngest. K3 students will have their own playground time and lunch in the classroom with their teachers. Students will develop close relationships with each other and with their classroom teacher and full-time aid.
K3 is a full day program beginning at 8:25am and ending at 3:00 PM. Students will have a daily nap time and healthy afternoon snack. K3 students must be toilet trained before entering the program. Bus transportation will not be available for three year olds. Parents must provide their own transportation to and from school.
After School Care is available to K3 parents who are working or require an extension to the school day. After School Care is from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A separate application is required for entrance into this program (see related links on the OCSI Admissions page).
