All New Walkathon for 2007!

This year's Walkathon (Saturday, Nov. 10) is new and improved! We have new prizes, a new course, and a new goal- we're going to raise ¥5,000,000 (!) to help the OCSI ADVANCE Campaign and provide $5000 for College Scholarships for Seniors! Get ready to walk for OCSI!

Did we mention the prizes?

We have a great "Prize Pyramid" in place this year! If you raise:

⇒ ¥4,000- receive an OCSI waterbottle!

⇒ ¥7,000- receive a Walkathon T-shirt! (and the waterbottle!)

⇒ ¥14,000- receive an OCSI Baseball Jersey (middle & high school) or an OCSI Backpack (elem.)! (and the T-shirt and the waterbottle!)

There will also be class prizes and an Overall Grand Prize for Elementary, Middle, and High school!

⇒A new iPod Nano!! (A total of 3 iPods- one for each level!)

Walkathon Details

Date: Saturday, November 10, 2007

Time: 9:00am Start, meal starting at 11:30am.

Entry Fee: Free for all OCSI students who have turned in donations totaling ¥1500 or above. All others- ¥1500. (meal included)

Course: 10km out-and-back course (20km total) starting and finishing at OCSI Campus. The course will go north from campus to Hwy. 12, turn left (west) and go to Hwy. 6, turn right (north) and follow Hwy. 6 all the way to shortly before arriving at the Renaissance Resort. About 300m before the Renaissance Resort is Checkpoint #10 which is the turn-around point. See the course map for details. Students in 2nd grade and below will ride the OCSI bus (with a parent) to the 10km point to begin. The bus will leave the OCSI campus at 9:15am.

Finish Line Festival:

• Meal Provided to all registered Walkathon participants. Available to everyone else for ¥400 (children) and ¥500 (adults).
• Fun games and entertainment!
• Announcement of Class Prize Winners and Grand Prize Winner!

Fundraising Details:

• Goal- ¥5,000,000 (average of ¥14,000 per student)
• Donations must be received by classroom teachers by Friday, November 9th, to be considered for Prize Pyramid prizes, Grand Prize iPods, and the Classroom Participation prizes.
